Rock legends Alter Bridge took the stage Tuesday, May 5, with a bang. On the warm spring night, fans lined up at The Epic Event Center to see openers Tim Montana, Filter, and headliners Alter Bridge.
The Epic Event Center opened in 2021 in the heart of Green Bay’s stadium district near Lambeau Field. Developed as a modern live entertainment venue, the 25,000-square-foot facility was designed to bring national concerts, comedy acts, and community events to northeast Wisconsin. With a capacity of more than 2,000 guests, the center quickly became known for its state-of-the-art sound, intimate concert atmosphere, and strong connection to the local entertainment scene. Since opening, EPIC Event Center has hosted a wide variety of performers and events, helping expand Green Bay’s reputation as a destination for live entertainment, and it certainly grew hosting Alter Bridge on their "What Lies Within" tour.

Starting off the night strong, solo project Tim Montana played to a crowd of awaiting fans with heavy riffs that impressively brought up the only crowd surfer of the night. The scene was intense, with bright neon lights filling up the venue in contrast to the usually dark moody lights of rock and metal. Tim Montana and his band had a presence that was not unknown as they pranced around the stage with smiles and a swagger in their walk that said, “Hell yeah!”
Enter history of band Tim, or whatever his name is. He really knows how to open up.
Tim Montana really knows how to start up a show with the following set list captivating the crowd:
Next on stage was the moodier Ohio-born band, Filter. The American rock band definitely had a heavier tone, which was built up with a smoggy, smoke-filled stage and dark, moody lights that had fans cheering for more. Singer and frontman Richard Patrick took over the stage, prancing around like he owned it, and he did. Band members Jonny Radtke (Guitar), Bobby Miller (Bass), and Elias Mallin (Drums) followed suit, taking over the crowd with heavy hitters.
Filter is an American industrial rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1993 by singer and guitarist Richard Patrick after he left Nine Inch Nails, where he had worked as a touring guitarist. Filter quickly gained attention with their debut album, Short Bus, which featured the hit song "Hey Man Nice Shot." The band became known for blending heavy guitar riffs, electronic elements, and emotional lyrics, helping define the industrial and alternative rock sound of the 1990s. Over the years, Filter released several successful albums, including Title of Record, which included the popular single Take a Picture. Despite multiple lineup changes and periods of hiatus, Richard Patrick remained the band’s driving force, continuing to evolve Filter’s sound while maintaining their reputation as a major influence in alternative and industrial rock music.

The crowd was awake and thrilled for the main act. Alter Bridge was well awaited with cheers and poster boards sticking up from diehard fans as they screamed. Alter Bridge is an American rock band formed in 2004 in Orlando. The group was created by former members of Creed: guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips. They recruited vocalist Myles Kennedy, whose powerful voice and songwriting style helped define the band’s identity.
The name “Alter Bridge” came from a real bridge near Tremonti’s childhood home in Detroit. The band wanted a fresh start and a sound different from Creed, combining hard rock, heavy metal, and melodic elements. Their debut album, One Day Remains, was released in 2004 and included successful songs like “Open Your Eyes” and “Find the Real.” The album introduced audiences to Kennedy’s vocals and showcased the band’s heavier and more technical musical direction.
In 2007, Alter Bridge released their second album, Blackbird. The album received critical acclaim and is often considered one of their best works. The title track, “Blackbird,” became especially famous for its emotional lyrics and guitar solos by Tremonti and Kennedy.
The band continued to grow internationally with albums such as
AB III
Fortress
The Last Hero
Walk the Sky
Pawns & Kings
Over time, Alter Bridge became known for strong live performances, complex guitar work, and the vocal chemistry between Kennedy and Tremonti. Outside the band, members have also worked on side projects. Myles Kennedy became widely known for performing with Slash, while Mark Tremonti formed the band Tremonti.

Today, Alter Bridge is considered one of the leading modern hard rock bands, with a loyal international fan base and a reputation for musicianship and emotionally powerful songs, so it made no surprise to see how filled the venue got for the rock icons. Throughout the set, Fan screamed, danced, smiled, and clapped and couldn’t seem more thrilled to be at The Epic Event Center on a Tuesday night. What Miles Kennedy certainly doesn’t lack is stage presence and a confident swagger that builds a great front man.
Fans sang along as the rock band went through the following set list:
