Candlebox Celebrate 33 Years of Rock & Roll With Green Bay on Their, “Can’t Quit You Tour.”

It was a hot, nearly 90 degree day for Green Bay Wisconsin, and fans bustled into The Epic Event Center like it was their job. 

The Epic Event Center opened in 2021 in the heart of Green Bay’s stadium district near Lambeau Field. Developed as a modern live entertainment venue, the 25,000-square-foot facility was designed to bring national concerts, comedy acts, and community events to northeast Wisconsin. With a capacity of more than 2,000 guests, the center quickly became known for its state-of-the-art sound, intimate concert atmosphere, and strong connection to the local entertainment scene. Since opening, EPIC Event Center has hosted a wide variety of performers and events, helping expand Green Bay’s reputation as a destination for live entertainment, including tonight’s act, Candlebox, celebrating 33 Years of Rock & Roll.

Opening the night out was rock solo project Nigel & The Heat. Nigel & The Heat is the latest project from vocalist and guitarist Nigel Dupree, best known for his years fronting the hard rock band Nigel Dupree Band. Drawing inspiration from classic Southern rock, blues, and modern hard rock, he assembled Nigel & The Heat as a straightforward, high-energy rock band built around big riffs, soulful vocals, and a live-first mentality. The group has steadily gained attention through regional touring while continuing to release new music and expand its audience. Though still early in its career, Nigel & The Heat has established itself as a rising act carrying forward a traditional rock sound with a fresh, modern edge.

The still-fresh band had command over the Green Bay crowd almost immediately as Dupree pranced around the stage with a confidence many veteran frontmen would envy. His energy was impossible to ignore, constantly engaging with the audience while the rest of the band matched his intensity. Despite being early in their career, Nigel & The Heat looked completely at home under the Wisconsin stage lights, displaying polish of a group that has been touring together for years.

Their self-titled 1993 debut became a multi-platinum success behind enduring hits like "Far Behind," "You," and "Cover Me," establishing Candlebox as one of the defining rock acts of the decade. While lineup changes and a brief hiatus shaped the band's history, Martin has remained its constant driving force, leading Candlebox through multiple acclaimed releases, extensive touring, and more than three decades of hard rock. With the band now on its “Can’t Quit You Tour,” each performance serves as both a celebration of its legacy of 33 years and an opportunity for fans to experience these songs live.

From the moment Candlebox took the stage at Epic Event Center, it was clear the crowd had been waiting for this performance all night. Kevin Martin's unmistakable voice has lost little of its power, effortlessly shifting between gritty verses and soaring choruses while maintaining constant interaction with the audience.
