The lineup consisted of Heidi Shepherd & Henry Flury, Islander, and original Flyleaf vocalist, Lacey Sturm. The sold-out crowd ranged from longtime listeners who discovered the band in the mid-2000s to younger fans experiencing Flyleaf live for the first time. From the moment the doors opened, there was a sense that this concert felt more like a reunion between a band and the people whose lives had been shaped by its music.

To start the night, Heidi Shepherd and Henry Flury, best known as the vocalist and guitarist of Butcher Babies, treated the audience to an intimate acoustic performance that showcased a completely different side of their musicianship.

Trading heavy riffs for unplugged arrangements, the duo put their own spin on familiar alternative favorites, including songs like "Rolling in the Deep," "My Hero," and "Teenage Dirtbag." Heidi's powerful voice effortlessly adapted to the stripped-back setting, while Henri's melodic acoustic guitar playing gave each cover a fresh, heartfelt feel. Supported by Sean Violet on bass, the soft atmosphere felt like something extra special. The audience responded enthusiastically, cheering loudly as Heidi delivered a performance filled with confidence, passion, and energy.

Then the night broke out into an explosive performance from Islander. Hailing from Greenville, South Carolina, Islander uses a blend of hard rock, metal, and hip-hop influences that immediately energized the audience. Frontman Mikey Carvajal kept the crowd engaged from the first song, moving constantly and flinging the microphone cord all over the stage as if he was releasing a lifetime's worth of rage on it. Songs from albums like Violence & Destruction, It's Not Easy Being Human, and Grammy Nominated were met with enthusiastic cheers, mosh pits, and constant crowd participation. With their explosive sound and commanding stage presence, Islander proved they are a force to be reckoned with and delivered a concert experience fans won’t soon forget.

As the lights dimmed and Flyleaf finally emerged, the excitement inside The Fillmore Minneapolis reached another level. The opening notes of "In The Dark" immediately sent the audience into a frenzy as Lacey Sturm danced her way onto the stage. This sparked excitement among longtime fans eager to hear the songs performed by the voice that introduced them to the world. After Lacey's departure from the band in 2012 to pursue a solo career, Flyleaf continued with vocalist Kristen May before eventually entering a hiatus. Seeing Lacey reunited with the band gave the performance an emotional weight that extended far beyond nostalgia. 

The crowd's emotional connection to the music was impossible to miss. During the heavier songs, fans crowded the front of the stage, jumping and singing while small mosh pits formed near the center of the floor. During quieter moments, hundreds of cell phone lights illuminated the venue, creating a sea of light that accompanied some of the evening's most emotional performances. The chemistry between Flyleaf and Lacey Sturm felt effortless, as though no time had passed. Every lyric was delivered with conviction, and the audience responded by singing along to nearly every word, creating a sense of unity that filled the entire venue.

“You are not an accident, or a mistake, or a burden. You are intentionally made by an artist. By the god of love.” Lacey said as she made a heartfelt speech about her personal struggles with self love. Flyleaf then launched into one of their most cherished songs “All Around Me.” This moment was a beautiful reminder that some voices never lose their ability to move us, and some moments are worth waiting years to experience. The performance was powerful from start to finish. Lacey's vocals were just as passionate and heartfelt as ever, carrying the same raw emotion that made Flyleaf's music so meaningful years ago.
