On a chilly Sunday night, November 23rd, Green Bay was booming with excitement from The Packers easy win of the night. That excitement flowed into the EPIC Event Center as the night transitioned to a celebration of rock.
Mammoth, a powerhouse rock project led by Wolfgang Van Halen, took the stage with openers Return to Dust and Myles Kennedy. In a venue that has seen everything from indie newcomers to seasoned rock legends, Mammoth’s show brought a packed crowd of excited fans.

Starting with the first opener, Return to dust took the stage by storm. The Los Angeles rock band formed in 2022, and is known for blending ’90s grunge influences with a modern, heavy alternative-rock sound. With gritty guitars, moody vocals, and a dark, atmospheric style, they’ve gained attention through their early EP Black Road and their 2024 self-titled debut album. Their performance of heavy riffs and tight sounds showed why they’ve quickly earned a growing fan base and reputation as one of rock’s most promising newer acts.
Myles Kennedy performed next, and surely didn’t disappoint. The American singer, songwriter, and guitarist is best known as the frontman of Alter Bridge and the lead vocalist for Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. Kennedy has built a reputation for his powerful vocal range and expressive performances. Beyond his band work, Kennedy has released acclaimed solo albums that showcase his skill as a storyteller and multi-instrumentalist which he played throughout his set, setting the stage for the headlining show.

And of course, Mammoth took the stage with eagerly awaiting fans screaming and cheering. With a set list that goes as follows-
One of a Kind
Another Celebration at The End of the World
The Spell
Epiphany
Same old Song
Like a Pastime
Optimist
Stone
Happy
Mammoth
Resolve
Distance
All in Good Time
I Really Wanna
Don’t Back Down
The End
-It’s no surprise The Epic Event Center was alive all night.

Talking about Wolfgang Van Halen means acknowledging the heavy legacy he carries. As the son of guitar legend Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli, Wolfgang has a name that looms large in rock history. But rather than being defined by that legacy, he has spent the last five years carving out his own path.
Mammoth, a name that once belonged to his father's early band before Van Halen took off, has become Wolfgang’s platform for self-expression. He writes the music, plays all the instruments in the studio, and carefully crafts the band’s sound. And during Sunday’s performance, it became evident that while the journey of creating Mammoth started as a solo venture, it has grown into something much more.
